How get six pack abs? The first thing that tends to come to mind in most people’s heads when trying to get fast abs is crunches. “I must crunch till it hurts!” However, what people don’t understand is that is simply just developing the underlying ab muscles.
I sure at this stage people
will begin to ask “Well isn’t
that what I’m supposed to be doing?!” The answer is, well… yes and no!
Yes, you should include
exercise for abs into your workout
to get Six Pack Abs but the first port of call for I believe over 80%
of people
is to lose that stubborn layer of subcutaneous fat with lies over your
midsection. A simple fact is that if you don’t lose this you will NEVER
have
visible 6 Pack Abs.
This should also take
precedence over Ab Exercises because
most people who are active have Six Pack Abs already but they just can't
see
them. Check to see if you have abs by tensing your mid section and
feeling your
ab muscles. Anything there?!
Well if you can hold your upper body upright then there more than likely is! Now, try and imagine what these ab muscles would look like if there wasn’t that soft roll of fat surrounding them. Imagine what is would look like…
The reason I say this is because is not all about dong Crunches after Crunches till your neck and back are aching, It’s about losing that unattractive layer of Fat.
It’s very simple really. All it takes is consistency and patience with a good Diet and effective exercise.
Personally, I’ve never been
much of a fan Dieting. I’ve
always liked my food so to compensate for this I would do more
Cardiovascular
exercise to burn off the excess Calories I would be getting from food I
so
like.
While saying this I wasn’t a
complete slob when it came to
food either.
I understood just how long it would take to burn off a
slice of
pizza or an extra few biscuits. As a result, I would usually ditch
these things
for something more substantial like some Low G.I Carbohydrate (such as
whole meal
bread, Oats or brown rice) and some lean Protein (chicken breasts,
eggs, whey
protein). These changes accelerate my fat loss and will do the same for
you!
As for exercise, well it can be made very boring if you have to run on a treadmill for an hour. However, it’s better if exercise is made enjoyable by doing something recreational that you like. This can be mountain biking, hiking, running, rock climbing, dancing there are too many to mention.
In my own case I never had a weight problem because always played (and Still do play!) rugby which is a team sport I love because not only am I keeping fit but I’m also enjoying the fun we have on and off the training field.
So my message is too make exercise FUN! You more likely to stick with it!
