Losing Belly Fat can often be a very hazy and unclear
subject. With so much information bombarding us from TV, magazines,
radio, supermarkets etc. telling us to follow this diet to lose belly
fat and to do that
program it becomes difficult to see the underlying, SIMPLE truth behind
Losing Belly fat.
However, from many years in the fitness industry, I have grown to understand that this lack of clarity is what this industry thrives on.
Health magazines and supplement companies in
particular ALWAYS want to keep you
guessing.
Think about it?! If health magazines editors and supplement company directors TRULY wanted you to have “Chiselled Six Pack Abs in 30 Days!” or have “20lbs less Fat in 2 weeks” why wouldn’t they supply you with an exercise guide, a training guide and a lifestyle guide ALL suited to your specifications?
SIMPLE! If they did that there would be no need for health magazines and supplements as the persons goals would be straight forward (which they should be!).
Instead, they would rather
keep giving you little fragments of quality
information so that you
keep coming back and doing business with them.
For these people it makes sense, as if they didn’t do this there would be far less money for the Editor of the magazine and the Director of the Supplement company!
On top of that, health magazines and supplement companies happen to be remarkable at marketing!
So much so that a
little part of me is always convinced when a new “Killer Build Big
Biceps
Work-out” is published or a revolutionary “belly fat loss Pill” is
released.
However, there is always an even bigger, wiser and
more experienced part of me that understands that this is just another
FAD to lure desperate people in and make a quick buck out of them.
What most people don’t understand is that there is a simple logic to Eliminate Belly Fat. It is called the Calorie Deficit and EVERYTHING in the Fat loss industry revolves around it!
I’ll start with an example;
The calorie intake for maintenance of weight for Subject A is 2500Cals. However, if subject A maintains a deficit of 500Cals from a nutritious, balanced and wholesome diet alone their body should eventually adapt and therefore start to experience belly fat loss in accordance to this calorie deficit.
This is provided that they maintain there metabolism with a level of physical and mental activity i.e. working, walking to the store etc.
If Subject A then proceeds to carry-out Cardio which burns 300cals on-top of their nutritious, balances and wholesome diet of 2000cals, their calorie deficiency would then equate to 1700Cals. His/her bodies Fat Loss would be accelerated even further.
[NOTE: A
calorie count of less
than 1500Cals for this individual would be detrimental to his/her Rapid
Body Fat Loss goals due to the lack of nutrients 1500Cals would
provide. A
nutritious, balances and wholesome diet with the least amount of
calories should be estimated to suit you.]
Calorific deficiency with the necessary balanced, nutritious and wholesome food is belly fat loss in a nutshell.
However, the only difficulties you now should have
are, what;
--Is my calorie
intake for maintenance
--Is my
lowest calorie level
--Foods do I need to get rid of belly fat
--Cardio is the most effective for me to burn calories
The answers to these questions are all based on YOU. They depend on your weight, height, body fat, level of daily activity, age, gender etc.
For example, an 85kg female with 10% body fat who
plays rugby professionally and who requires 3500Cals for maintenance of
weight would not be given the same routine as a sixty year old female
of 85kg who has never exercised. This is why we emphasize
individuality!
On top of that, this is why generalizations such
as;
“Walk for 20 minutes everyday and you’ll Lose Fat”
should never be used and taken note of. Everything depends on the individual and his/her needs.
It is for this reason of ‘individuality’ that the
only person who you should take advice from is someone who takes these
things into consideration and understands how to use them for the
fastest and most effective means to lose fat.
The surest and easiest way to Lose
Belly Fat without making things very
complicated
is just to eat less
and exercise more and track your weight
week-by-week to see if what you are doing is actually working.
Personally, I
have always hated Dieting and whenever I had weight issues I would just
eats
less of what I like and exercised more.
Did it work? All the time! The one thing I never did though
was cut back on exercising which I would do almost every day whether it
be
swimming, running, rowing, surfing or the odd bit of weights in the
gym.
