Frequently, it doesn’t take a great deal of effort and thought to turn what may be considered a high fat Diet into a Low Fat Diet Plan.
For the most part, it’s not even necessary to change around the foods that are a staple in your Diet. What it actually requires is that you alter the type of this sort of food such as;
Milk, Cheese, Butter\Mayo, Eggs and Meat
For many people it would be fair to say that one or more of the following would usually have a place in their Diet on a daily basis.
With this in consideration it would be wise to take a closer look at these foods and switch to the low fat diet foods alternative which is fortunately an option with these particular type of foods.
Milk
A lot of us tend to prefer full fat or “normal milk” due to the creamier taste as oppose to an often watery skimmed milk. However, if you opt for semi-skimmed or low fat milk you could find yourself saving numerous calories.
This holds true especially if you’re someone who eats breakfast cereals and tea and coffee more than once a day.
Cheese
There is a huge variety of cheeses available these days from brie to mozzarella and from camembert to Parmesan.
Unfortunately, if you’re are a big cheese eater and frequently eat some of the cheeses listed above, it would be wise to change some of them to maintain a low fat diet plan. Some of the less calorie dense cheeses include low-fat cottage cheese, cream cheese and hard cheeses.
To be honest, I really wouldn't opt for any other cheeses than these ones due to the sheer volume of Calories most cheese contain which will have very little benefit to you losing fat.
Butter and Margarine
Butter is one of those foods that can make a huge difference to your goals in losing fat. If you’re someone who eats sandwiches, crackers or even frys with butter I would highly recommend shifting to a reduced fat butter made with olives, as the calorie you can save with this switch can be quite dramatic.
If you find yourself frying chicken or preparing omelets and other such things on a daily basis then I would definitely recommend using a low calorie spray such as ‘1 Cal Spray’.
Each spray only contains 1 Calorie which means that the savings you are making in terms of calories can be quite startling particularly if you were someone who prior to this threw a heap of margarine into the pan to fry with.
Eggs
The only issue I have with eggs is using too many egg yolks in meals such as omelets, frittatas, scambled eggs, poached eggs and so on. Try and include as many egg whites possible as oppose to egg yolks.
If you’re fussy about using no eggs yolks then you might consider buying an all egg white mix that you can buy in some stores.
Meat
Make sure when buying meat that it is as lean -minimum fat- as possible. This is especially true when buting beef as cuts may be high in fat. Try and opt for fillet or stirlion.
On top of this steer clear of skinned chicken breast and choose skinless instead.
