Muscle Mass Supplements
With all Muscle Supplements for putting on muscle mass we find out if they're worth buying!

The are many Muscle Mass Supplements on the market today. In fact, if you were to browse through a popular online supplements store I've no doubt that you would find literally hundreds of Supplements orientated around building muscle mass. The only question is "do these muscle mass supplements actually work?"

In my teens, when I started out weightlifting with gaining lean muscle mass in mind, I was -as many teens are- very impressionable. So, as you can imagine, when I started out reading bodybuilding magazines with supplements being promoted on every second page this began to rub off on me.

I'm sure you've seen absolute mass monsters on the insides of Health and Fitness magazines promoting some gain muscle mass supplement that guarantees something ridiculous like an increase of 10lbs of muscle mass in two weeks!

Of course, it is easy for me to criticize such over hyped super supplements today however, back when I start out trying to gain muscle mass I was actually convinced that this I needed!

Muscle Mass Supplements, are they worth it?

I went through a lot of muscle supplements growing up from all sorts of creatines, weight gainers, meal replacements, whey proteins, nitric oxide and the list goes on... and ON!

As you can imagine I spent a whole lot of money purchasing these supplements and learnt many lesson from it. The one and most significant is that many of these supplements -and not just muscle building supplements- are USELESS and a WASTE OF MONEY!

The kind of gains in terms of muscle and strength I experienced with these supplements was insignificant in comparison to the improvements I made when I got a good training regime and muscle building diet.

So, the next time you see a tub of powder and it says "Gain 10lbs in two weeks" save your money, don't believe the hype, eat 1000 calories more than your daily requirement of calories and tear it apart in the gym and I can guarantee you'll see way better results!

Importance of Muscle Supplements in your Routine

Overall, if you were to make a pie chart to represent the importance of each element to gaining muscle mass including the diet, workout, lifestyle and finally supplements, the muscle mass supplements would only account for about 5% of your overall goal.

Then again, this is still 5% you certainly wouldn't want to be disregarding and while It may sound like I'm am writing-off supplements I am just highlighting the fact that they are not going to be the difference to whether you 10lbs of muscle mass or not. The Diet, workout and recovery will dictate this.

Benefits of Muscle Build Supplements

Supplements can in actually fact be very beneficial and practical. Take for example whey protein which excellent and almost essential if you are serious about building muscle mass.

In a typical diet to build muscle there is not enough protein to adequately grow and repair muscle tissue. This is where whey protein comes in and can add 100 more grams of protein to the diet without having to consume loads more chicken breasts or steaks which are costly.

On top of this creatine is an excellent supplement to increase strength and muscle mass. In the time that I have been using Creatine supplements it has been the difference between an extra 10% in muscle mass or extra 10% in a weightlifting movement.

All in all, it is certainly worth taking. I have found micronized creatine monohydrate with dextrose to be the best.
