Weightlifting benefits
Find out how regular Weightlifting Routines can have a hugely positive impact on your life!

Weightlifting benefits are numerous from building muscle mass to improving posture!

Before I started weightlifting at the age 14 I, like many, didn’t see the whole point of weightlifting.

I really didn’t see the point why people would load up a barbell and try to overcome this resistance.

However, over time I began to realize the satisfaction you can get from establishing your maximum lifts and then trying to beat it by a little bit every so often in the gym.

I guess to explain it to someone who now has no desire for weightlifting I’d describe it like trying to knock a can off the wall with a stone. It’s totally pointless however you stick with until such a time where you strike the can off the wall and consequently get a hint of satisfaction from it.

Weightlifting benefits I have received over the years

Confidence

The most notably benefit from weight listing was self-esteem. Growing up I was always relatively skinny compared with my friends. As a result, I guess growing up I always felt self conscious and intimidated by other people particularly those who were bigger and stronger than me.

Personally, I don’t think that this is a complex that only young people have. I truly believe that most adults mainly men feel a subconscious sense of inferiority to men who are bigger, stronger and more athletic than they are.

Engaging in weightlifting over the period of a few years helped me to change these tribulations I had. I went from being a skinny, shy teenager who was intimidated by most people to someone with a big chest and broad shoulders who doesn’t feel inferior to anyone really.

While this may sound like self-loathing I still truly believe that having a body that you are comfortable in and comfortable presenting can make a huge impact on your day-to-day life.

Performance in sports

I believe if you engage in any sort of activity be it at a highly competitive level or just something on the side I believe weightlifting can be hugely beneficial.

Weightlifting can increase your functional strength which can make it not only this activity you participate in easier but also the physical activity you do every day such as walking up a stairs or carrying shopping around the place.
